Research your ship before you commit to it
Standard stateroom bathrooms aboard Carnival Celebration are noticeably smaller, and seemed cramped and difficult to even turn around in and could present challenges for larger passengers. That modern styling continues too in stateroom bathrooms, which are crisp and well-designed and finally shed the horrifying pinks and pea-soup-green plastic molding found on past ships. Gone, too, are the cylindrical showers with the clingy curtains, replaced instead by a generously sized shower with an articulated door that slides out of the way when opened. In typical Carnival fashion, its neon-blue and orange Body Wash and Shampoo are located in pump-dispensers mounted to the wall. Staterooms aboard Carnival Celebration are more modern in appearance than the line’s ships of the past, with a palette of light blues and sea foam greens mixed with crisp white linens and furnishings. The patience passengers will need aboard Carnival Celebration extends to the passenger elevators, which never seem to arrive in a timely manner, and are nearly always packed to the brim with people.
Choose an early arrival time
Once per cruise, often on the last sea day, Carnival's room stewards really work their magic by "taking over" the pool deck with their towel animal creations. Lanyards are ideal, especially for little kids, to keep your cruise card close when your clothes don't have pockets. Pack towel clips to keep your pool towel from blowing off your lounge chair. Pick fun designs to readily identify your chair in the sea of sunbathers. Following one mid-week performance, crew repeatedly asked passengers to clear the entire Deck 6 area so that shows could re-set. Since November 2022, Carnival Luminosa (former Costa ship) operates voyages in Australia-New Zealand (roundtrips from Brisbane Queensland) as well as Alaskan voyages from Seattle (Washington USA) during summer. Carnival Legend's Europe 2024 program includes 17 voyages and homeporting in Barcelona, Civitavecchia-Rome, and Dover-London. Europe 2024 schedule starts on April 15th (Transatlantic crossing from Baltimore to Barcelona) and ends on Oct 26th (Transatlantic from Civitavecchia to Tampa). From JAXPORT the ship operates short breaks to Bahamas - 4-day (Freeport + Bimini) and 5-day (Nassau + Princess Cays). Carnival Luminosa (former Costa ship) started an inaugural season in Australia in November 2022, based on homeporting in Brisbane Queensland. On each of the Carnival ships, there are three full-time attendants (at the waterworks facility/ aqua park with slides), which are swimming pool safety, CPR and first aid trained.

In May 2024, Liberty starts voyages from Port NOLA/New Orleans (Louisiana) replacing Carnival Glory (to be homeported in Port Canaveral). Departing on Sundays from Port NOLA, Liberty will operate 7-day Western Caribbean itineraries plus a 7-day Bahamas+Eastern Caribbean itinerary. Starting in May 2024, Carnival Glory will be homeported in Port Canaveral, replacing Carnival Liberty. Glory will offer roundtrips to The Bahamas departing on Fridays (3-night itinerary to either Nassau or North Bimini) and Mondays (4-night itineraries to either North Bimini+Nassau or Princess Cays+Nassau).

CCL fleet's discarded remnants from staterooms are taken to a recycling center ashore where are sanitized, melted down and reprocessed. The newly-formed bars are not reused onboard, but distributed to vulnerable communities worldwide. As of 2019, Clean the World recycles and distributes recycled hygiene products to 127+ countries. Since April 1st, CCL again offers the popular "Behind the Scenes" ship tour fleetwide. By the new "COSTA by CARNIVAL" cruise program (targeting CCL's North American source market) two of the newest Costa ships - Venezia (2019) and Firenze (2021) - will be transferred to and start operations for CCL. PayPal allows CCL customers to make online purchases more quickly and securely. PayPal can be used as a payment option for any of Carnival cruise itineraries with durations 3- to 15-days, visiting ports both USA and international ports and destinations.
